CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE!

OUR STORY

It is Victor's past that compels him to work so diligently to ensure the future of Africa's children both here in Atlanta and abroad. Growing up in Nigeria, during a period of severe civil unrest, Victor's education was disrupted for three years. In 1967, his village was bombed leaving him orphaned and his family homeless and transient.

It was this experience that sparked a true sense of purpose in him. Victor has always been a man of opportunity, and prides himself to make something out of nothing. With diligence and humility, he set on the mission to secure to the best of his ability, the best and brightest future for Africa's children.

Founded in 1993 by Victor Mbaba, Africa's Children's Fund (ACF) is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. Victor has worked with children for over twenty years and he saw a critical need to motivate and support families and communities to nurture and support all children. Since our inception in 1993, we have been assisting children and families with food, housing, and education. We believe that everyone should have access to the basic necessities in life. Our purpose is to provide resources for families in need so that they can give their children the tools they need to thrive.

OUR IMPACT

Since our inception in 1993, we have affected over 200,000 children in the United States of America, Africa, and the Caribbean through our development and relief programs for children.

  • 197,000 children and youth have benefited from our Gift of Books project that has distributed over 2 million books to support literacy and improve the quality of education in South Africa, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Jamaica, and Ghana.
  • 5,382 children and youth in Metropolitan Atlanta have been served by our mentoring, prevention education, and summer programs to prevent delinquency and improve academic success.
  • 6,854 men, women, and children in Metropolitan Atlanta, Nigeria, Kenya, and Haiti have received emergency assistance such as food, transitional housing, rent/utility assistance, and other supportive services to meet basic needs during time of crisis.
  • 12,504 children and youth in Nigeria, South Africa, Senegal, and Ghana have received scholarships, sports training, and HIV/AIDS prevention education.

Thank you to all who have supported us over the years!
